Yorklands Update –Heritage Conservation District Designation Meeting update and election information.

The presentation on the Heritage Conservation District designation was well attended and if you were unable to attend please check out the link and see the presentation for yourself.

Your comments and delegations over the past year have made a difference and the area for Part 5 and Part 4 includes our recommendations.

If you have not commented you can still send your comments until Oct 13th to the city website https://www.haveyoursay.guelph.ca/login/

The next big step for YGH will be getting support for the plan from a new city council. Please choose councillors who will support the Part V addition to the Part IV Plan.

Questions for your councillors could include:

1. Are you committed to maintaining public access to the Reformatory grounds after the Province divests itself of the property?

2. Are you committed to protecting the heritage attributes on the Reformatory grounds by establishing a cultural heritage district under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act.

Tuesday Oct 11th at 7pm: a Mayoral debate at Dublin St Church, Suffolk and Dublin .

Ward boundaries have changed. Know your ward.

Information on wards, candidates, where and how to vote is at this link on the City website: https://vote.guelph.ca/

Many of the candidates have websites linked to the Registered Candidates page.

Adam Donaldson wrote a compelling column on Guelph Today last week:
