Launched as a pilot project in 2020, the Polli-Patches program exists to help community members learn a bit more about native plants and their role in pollination.
Thanks to the generous community grant by Pollination Guelph, Yorklands Green Hub recieved over 100 applications to join the program. Working with 15 of the households, on the east side of Guleph, we planted pollinator gardens and monitored their growth through the year.
Since 2021, we have expanded the program, working with 25 households. We have also expanded our educational resources so more people are aware of how they can turn their gardens into thriving habitats for pollinators.
