Noticing Nature is a summer program offered to families with children ages 4 to 11. This child-led program is offered for 8 mornings 10am to 12pm. During the first hour, the staff person facilitates and encourages the small group of caregivers/parents with their children to explore the Yorklands property observing its plants, birds, insects, fish and other animals. The children are encouraged to ask questions about what they see and are provided opportunities to delve deeper into learning about the things they are interested in. The second hour is spent gathering in a shady spot to explore art activities based on their observations or engaging in environmentally focused games depending on the interests of the children.
