I am a southern Ontario native and have been living in Guelph for 40 years. I taught art and science for 30 years in Wellington County.
Since the spring of 2019, nature has become even more important for all of us as COVID19 restricted our lives in so many ways. Getting out for a bike ride, taking a walk in the woods, going for a day at the beach, or just being in my own yard has always been an important resource for maintaining mental and physical health. I have always been inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us, and have often used flora and fauna to be the subjects of my artwork.
Saving an important environmental site such as the Yorklands is critical for our future well-being.
