SUMMARY:Guided Forest Therapy Walk
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate National Forest Week\, Yorklands is hosting a guided forest therapy walk led by Giulia Pozzi\, a certified forest therapy guide! \nAlso known as forest bathing\, forest therapy is a wellness practice that encourages participants to engage with their senses and reconnect with nature. Originating from Japan in the 1980s\, several studies now affirm some of the benefits of regular forest therapy\, including a reduction in stress levels and increased well-being. \nDuring the walk along the Yorklands\, Giulia will guide participants through a series of restorative\, mindful invitations to slow down and interact with the forest in new\, playful ways. Registered participants will receive an email closer to the event date\, with additional details. \nWhat to expect:\n\nGentle\, flexible invitations to inspire you to engage with the natural world\nMoments of optional sharing as a group\nTea under the canopy at the end\n\n20-dollar donations are encouraged for event participants\, who have the option to donate either online or in person at the event\, using cash. The date remains Wednesday\, August 6\, with a rain date of Thursday\, August 7. \nJoin us on Wednesday\, August 6\, at 8:45pm\, for an unforgettable evening of music and stargazing at the Yorklands in partnership with the GSO and Ten Telescopes. Building on the magic of last year’s event\, this family-friendly outdoor experience blends the beauty of live classical music with guided telescope viewing under the summer sky. \nWe’re currently looking for 4–5 volunteers to help with event setup\, wayfinding\, and welcoming guests—come be part of the team that helps bring this special night to life!
